There are two common types of wasps; Hornets and Yellowjackets. They are usually found to be 12-20mm in length. The abdomens are either yellow or black, and wings are usually a red color. Wasps nests are usually made from wood chewed by the Hornets that takes a papery texture. Wasps tend to be very protective of their nests and will sting if they sense any danger to them or the nest. Wasps can be easily identified by the large abdomen, thorax and tight waist in between. Only female wasps have the ability to sting and are able to sting repeatedly.
